Two exoplantes having characteristics similar to Jupiter have been discovered by a team of astronomers from Chile. This has been discovered using the data from NASA's Kepler spacecraft operating in a new mission profile called K2. These so called "hot jupiters" are gas planets with orbital periods of less than 10 days.
