United states reported that North Korea sent a proposal to end the Korean war. This plea was however rejected because Pyongyang refused to reduce its nuclear activities. John Kirby,  the states department spokesman said that Barack Obama agreed to consider the settlement and formally end the Korean war long before Pyongyang started it's nuclear testings.
