The Geological Survey of India has identified 46 new coal blocks. Of this discovery, 12 coal blocks are located in West Bengal itself. GSI Director-General Harbans Singh said that these coal blocks will be soon handed over to the Coal Ministry. After a proper exploration is done within an year or so, an auction of the coal blocks will be held.
